Ana M. Briongos (Barcelona 1946-2024), ever since she first travelled to the Middle East and Asia as a student, was fascinated by travel. She worked and travelled extensively through both Iran an Afghanistan in the 1970s.  Her travel story A Winter in Kandahar, was awarded the first prize in travel books at the Latino Book Awards in New York City in 2009.  Black on Black, was first published by Lonely Travel literature, and now by Trotamundas Press with a new edition of the original book.
